Partners in Recovery (PIR) is a national initiative to help people who:
-
experience severe and persistent mental illness; and
-
have complex needs; and
-
need support from multiple agencies; and
-
need substantial assistance to connect with the supports they require.
The aim of the program is to help people avoid falling through gaps in the health and service systems. We work with existing services to develop more coordinated responses to each person’s needs. Brook RED is one of several PIR providers in Metro South Brisbane.
The PIR program connects individuals to a Support Facilitator who will help identify the person’s needs and wants. They then work in partnership with the person to reduce barriers and facilitate access to supports. The Support Facilitator can also promote and facilitate communication between the person’s various supports to ensure more holistic, comprehensive care that is tailored to their needs.
