Belong Training and Consultancy
What is Belong?
The Belong program provides training and consultation to organisations wishing to create affirming spaces and practice for LGBTQIAP+ people. Belong team members are all LGBTQIAP+, and are Peer Workers with experience living and working through mental health concerns.

Consultancy
We use our lived experience and knowledge around LGBTQIAP+ issues to support your organisation in the following areas:

Ensuring LGBTQIAP+ inclusivity in program development

Renewing forms and documents to ensure they are LGBTQIAP+ inclusive

Creating an affirming professional environment

Assisting with the development of educational and training materials

Facilitating conversations to increase confidence and knowledge for your workplace/ employees
For those who have attended Belong Training, we are also able to organise a follow up session to address any specific areas that you wish to know more about.
Training
Belong Training is an award-winning training program designed to increase capacity in supporting and working with LGBTQIAP+ people.
We want to help you create affirming spaces and strengthen your practice, by filling knowledge gaps and increasing your confidence in this space.
Open trainings are regularly held in South Brisbane for individuals to join, and organisations are able to contact us directly to organise for larger groups.
Duration: 4.5 hours
Areas covered: gender, sexuality, pronouns, terminology and best practice, intersex people, health impacts, creating an affirming environment
Belong is funded by the Brisbane South Primary Health Network (BSPHN) and is available at no cost for organisations and individuals who are living, working and volunteering in the BSPHN area. Please note that funded spots are limited and that there is a cost for this training outside of these.
